How long a request holds

This setting is per space and applies when the space is set to "I'll approve each request." You can choose 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours. A space with no saved choice uses 48 hours. If a request covers more than one space, it uses the shortest length among the spaces in it that require approval.

The time stays held while you decide. A check runs every hour, and once the length is up, it releases the request. The time opens again and nothing is charged. Paying a deposit by card is a separate 30-minute hold, and this setting doesn't change it.

When a request expires, the guest gets one email. The subject is "Your request for {space} expired," with the space's name in place of {space}. It reads:

Hi {name},

Your request for {space} on {when} expired before it was approved. Nothing was charged, and the time is open again.

{name} is the first word of their name, or "there" when the name is blank. {when} is the date and time they asked for.

The link is signed and stays valid for 7 days. Opening it doesn't use it up. The page has one button: Send this request again. The first submit uses the link. A second submit says: This link was already used. A link past 7 days says: This link has expired.

Sending it again doesn't charge a card. The request waits for you again, for the same length set on that space. If the account is view-only, the request isn't sent again.

If the time is still open, they see: Your request was sent again. Nothing has been charged, and the owner still needs to approve it.

If that time is no longer open, they see the heading "That time is no longer open." and the text "Nothing was booked." with the link "Pick another time."
