People, tags, and do not rent

People lists guests after their first booking. You can also add a name and email, or import a list as name, email. Adding a person does not put a time on the calendar. Guests still book without an account.

Open a person to see their bookings and how much they've paid, been refunded and still owe, along with their contact details, address and tags.

Tags are Regular, VIP, and Do not rent. Under the tags, the page says "Keep notes factual. A guest may be able to request their data." A private note is only for people on this account. The form says "Only people on this account can see this note."

Address is optional. The fields are Street, Line 2, City, State, and Postal code. The form says "Optional. Not shown to guests in the app or in emails."

Do not rent stays on your desk. It does not show on the guest's page or in an email to them.

On People, New requests is Warn me or Block the request. Warn is the usual choice. The page says "Warn is the usual choice. Block turns down new requests from anyone marked do not rent, and they won't be told why. Use this for conduct, like damage, no-shows or unpaid balances. Never base it on race, religion, disability, or any other protected trait."

It also says "Blocked guests see: The host can't take this booking."

A person marked do not rent shows "This person is marked do not rent." on their page and on a booking. If Block the request is on, a new request from that email is turned down. The guest sees "The host can't take this booking." If you try to enter that booking yourself, you see "This person is marked do not rent. New requests from this email are blocked."

You can filter the People list to Do not rent. You are responsible for making sure your use of tags and blocking follows the law, including anti-discrimination laws.
